In my opinion, I think time limits can be a good thing and a bad thing. It is a good thing because it can make a presenter get to the point in their speech rather than ramble on about irrelevant things. Another good thing about time limits is it can keep the presenter on track, so they don't start talking about other things and take too long to present. The last thing that could be an advantage for a time limit is if there is some type of schedule at work or school and you need to keep things flowing by using this time limit. A bad thing for a time limit is it may not give the presenter enough time to share all of their information so they feel rushed and may forget important topics to cover.
In high school we did a thing called senior projects. The senior project consisted of picking a topic that relates to the career we may want to go into in the future and your put a presentation together and there is a time limit for how long you have to talk for and a time that you can't pass. The minimum time was 8 minutes, and the max time was 15 minutes. Some people struggled with making the minimum time because they didn't have enough information on their topic and some people struggled with going over the maximum time. If you didn't meet the required minimum time, you don't pass your project, and if you go over 15 minutes, they cut you off and you don't get to share all of your information. Luckily, I presented in 11 minutes which means I had a good time, I passed the minimum and didn't exceed the maximum.
Overall, I do think time limits are good for presentation because it almost creates a schedule for the person to be able to hit all of their topics without getting off track.
